Italy:
Italy is a peninsula in the Mediterranean Sea. It is commonly remembered as the boot shaped country. It is very mountainous and a large portion of the country is covered in mountains. It has parts of the Alps mountains in it.
Italy includes two large islands: Sicily and Sardinia. Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean, with active volcanoes and earthquakes. Sardinia is basically mountains rising out of the ocean.
Inside Italy, it has the Vatican city, which is the center of the Catholic church, which we know by now has a heavy enough affect on Galileo. Italy, because of it's geographical location played a heavy role in modernizing Europe and it's original development.
