Brahe lived in the same century as Galileo. He was born into nobility and had a twin that died shortly after birth. He showed interest in astronomy even at a young age. When he grew up and was extremely wealthy, it was said he had no trouble spending large amounts of money and was a generally very charismatic and interesting person. In 1572 he observed one of the first supernovas in space with the naked eye. This was interesting and revolutionary because it showed where a new star has appeared that wasn't there before. This showed space was changing and that it wasn't constant. He found more evidence to help prove Kepler's three laws of planetary motion. He is said to have made the most accurate observation without the use of a telescope. He constructed an astronomical observatory with permission from the king who also funded it.
